On Wednesday we visited the Art Institute of Chicago for our Field Trip.  We have lived here nearly 4 years and I had never been there before - BIG mistake!! I couldn't believe how amazing it was and how I enjoyed it so much more than the Field or Science & Industry Museums.  For one thing, there is free admission for Illinois residents every first and second Wednesday of every month and children under 14 are always free! Oh my goodness...I can't believe I've been missing out on this beautiful place.

We were there with the three girls for preschool, so most of our time was spent in the family center, but we were still able to see the "Treasures of the British Museum", "Greek, Roman, and Byzantine Art", and the "Indian/Southeast Asian Art".  There is so much we didn't see though that I HAVE to go back!! I still want to see the Impressionism, Arms and Armor, American Modern Art (including "American Gothic"), and the "Thorne Miniature Rooms".  I am kicking myself that I have waited all this time to go to this AMAZING place.  When you visit Chicago...go here FIRST!
