Happy Birthday to ME!

So this is 29 - mother of 2 kids, married to a doctor, and living in a home we bought in Michigan.  Life is good :)

Ky was at a conference on my birthday so I got to spend the day with the kiddos.  I took myself to the mall to get my eyebrows done and I bought myself a birthday cake :)  My friend Lisa brought me some beautiful flowers too!  Then the next weekend my friend Charidee took the kids so Kyle and I could get away for a couple of days.  He took me shopping and bought me some new clothes.  We scored a (nearly) free dinner AND a free dessert that night with some gift cards and a nice waitress :)

The next day we went to Cedar Point to ride roller coasters!  We proved we're getting old though...we couldn't take standing in lines for over an hour at a time and then we could only stand about 4 rides before being done.  We had so much fun though and it was great to do something with just Kyle and not have to worry about dragging the kids around with us.  They had a ton of fun spending time with their friends too.

Meg's First Day of Kindergarten!!

She's R-E-A-D-Y! Meg is so funny - SHE asked ME to make her a "morning routine" chart so she could check everything off to be sure she was ready for school - so here's what I came up with.

We had a pretty good morning, but I think her tummy had too many butterflies because she hardly ate anything for breakfast and I couldn't convince her she needed to eat...I guess she'll learn a few more things than the 3 R's as the year goes.  Logan and I walked her to her classroom.  She found her locker and hung up her backpack.  Then she found her desk and jumped right in working on a coloring sheet.  The other parents were starting to leave and some of the kids were crying and didn't want to stay but not my Meggers...she was like, "oh, you're still here?" I was so proud of her.  I know she'll do great!

Logan was very sad that he didn't get to go to school.  He will miss his big sister, but only a little.  I think he's going to enjoy some private mommy time.  Today is a big day for him too - we're working on potty-training! yikes! I'm ready for Meg to be in school, but I'm not sure I'm ready to handle Logan in underpants yet...hmmmm...we'll see.

More to come when I pick her up after school!
