To start, Kyle's surgery went well. He has been in some pain because he can't stand to take the Vicodin because it makes him sick to his stomach, but he is tough and just pushes through. For the last couple of nights we've had to sleep separately because he has to have room to spread his arm out so he can sleep more comfortably...sigh...I woke up this morning and he was sleeping next to me on some blankets on the floor...sigh...I guess it doesn't bother him much though after years of sleeping on the Robinette living room floor...hahaha
Kyle started school again on Monday and is enjoying a shorter class-time schedule; though his study-time will not be decreased by any means. We can hardly believe he is nearly done with his first year of medical school. We are looking forward to this summer when he will have a 4-day work week with every Friday off. We intend to do some exploring and find some good camping places.
So, for his valentines/anniversary present, I bought us tickets to go see the Jazz play the Bulls last night in Chicago. Kyle was really surprised because he had only mentioned it once and had dropped it because I wasn't sure we'd be able to afford the tickets; but I am a super-shopper and I found a great deal! It turned out that a couple of our friends had also bought tickets to the game, so we carpooled together, which worked out great for all involved.
The game was a lot of fun - a good, close game the whole time until the very end when the Jazz pulled off a great lead. There were a few other Jazz fans in our section, one was a little boy, about 9 or 10, who was sitting right behind us. He said his dad's company was there watching the game and that, since his dad is from Utah, he is a Jazz fan, "and don't let them try to make you change your mind!" he told us (meaning the Bulls fans)...hahaha...
We had an awesome babysitter for Meg while we were gone - our good friends, the Borgs, came over with their little boy. When Meg saw Becca she literally screamed "BECCA!" and started jumping up and down; she didn't miss us at all! Meg must have had a good time because the first thing she said to me this morning after she woke up was "where Becca go?" then, "where baby go?". So, thank you Borg Family for making our anniversary date a great one, for ALL of us!
