We are finally home now from our Christmas in Utah. Megan had a lot of fun. She was an absolute angel on the 8-hour trip there - she loves taking off and landing.
We had fun visiting all the family and going to see the lights on Temple Square with everyone - especially with Laura, our friend from here who just moved to South Jordan. It was her and Megan's first time to see the lights on the square and they both loved it. It was a great night. I will have pictures soon...(hint hint Grandma Kristie...hahaha).
Megan loved Christmas and opening presents; I think she got a tad overwhelmed with everything though because she had about 4 packages left to open and wouldn't touch them - she was too busy playing with the new toys she had already opened! Kyle's sister, Amber, and I both got new boots (better mother?) for Christmas...Kyle also got new shoes. I also got a new coat and a hat...so I'm ready for winter!
The day after Christmas was Grandma Kristie's birthday, so we all went and saw the new Sherlock Holmes movie...it was pretty good...and then ate Costa Vida and played Mexican Train until about 2 in the morning! It was a fun day.
While Kyle's dad was having knee surgery we visited with my family, who came down and stayed with my Aunt Irene in Salt Lake. We played BANG and Mexican Train and ate mom's wonderful peanut butter fudge! YUM! It was great to see my family again.
Well, we finally got home after our flight had been delayed about 2 and 1/2 hours. We came back to a clean house and a mailbox full of Christmas cards from family, so I felt really good about life.
Our New Year's was fun. We had a party and hung out with some friends from the ward who we are trying to get to know better. I wasn't sure how many people were going to come until a couple of hours before the party started, then I had a little panic attack and sent Kyle to the store to buy a card table and chairs! All turned out well though and I think everyone had fun. Megan stayed up until 10 before she had enough of the party.
So, my new year's resolutions...learn to use my mom's old sewing machine, get Megan potty-trained by March, and join some classes at the local YMCA...gotta keep in shape to keep up with Meg. Happy New Year!
